January 9-13

 Hello Kindergarten Families,

It feels so good to be back!  I hope you all had an enjoyable break.  We would like to welcome Mrs. Leusink back to PM Kindergarten! Thank you to Ms. Yasin for helping with the transition this week.

Our letter of the week was Gg this week!  We love that it looks like a C with a table and an o with a monkey tail.  We practiced printing our Ggs, drawing things that start with g, and stamping some g pictures into our Visual Journals.

Kindergarten math continues to be all about patterns! Our students are creating their own patterns of increasing complexity.  We're also spotting patterns all around! These photos are from our PM class.

On Monday and Tuesday we participated in the Rocks and Rings curling residency!  The students picked up on the rules and scoring quickly. They listened to the coaches and practiced gliding their rocks into the house (or better yet, onto the button)!

We have a few changes to Centres since the break.  Our kitchen centre is now a vet office.  Kindergarten students have been working hard to help animals!  We also received a generous donation of paint with water books, so our students have been artists at work. A new zoo set up has added excitement to our animal centre as well. Photos are of our AM class.
