Nov. 28-Dec. 2

 Hello Ramsay Kindergarten Families,

It was a cold week in K!  Thankfully our excitement about December helped keep us warm.  We were also very excited to welcome Ms. Yasin to PM Kindergarten. Ms. Yasin will be with us until Ms. Leusink returns.

We have created a brief questionnaire about Winter Holidays, but the school printer is unavailable today. A paper copy will be sent home on Monday.  Once you receive it, please help your child fill out the form and send it back as soon as possible. This questionnaire is also listed under "Resources and Links" in our Google Classroom if you prefer a digital copy.  If you choose to do it on the computer, please email your finished form to elhrycan@cbe.ab.ca.  Each student will have a chance to tell the class about a tradition or memory that is special to them. Celebrating the wide variety of cultures in our classroom will be so much fun!

This week we learned about the letter Oo!  A lot of friends drew cute little otters in their visual journals for the letter Oo. We also went on an Oo hunt in the classroom and realized that Os are everywhere! Just look at how many are in this paragraph alone!

We have begun our Patterning unit in Math. This week we listened to songs and stories about patterns, then made our own with classroom materials.  We always make a pattern with the number cards on our classroom calendar, so this is a task we are already familiar with!  Many of our Kindergarten students were able to create their own patterns without any help.

On Fridays the AM and PM classes both attend morning Kindergarten from 8:22-11:10am. We will spend the first part of the day together, then take turns going down to Music with Ms. A! We will finish our day together as a big group.  The PM class will be keeping their backpacks in Room 6 to help provide space for getting in and out of our winter gear.

Please note: The last week for book exchange at the Library will be next week (Dec. 5-9). We will still go into the Library for a story and some Maker Space time on Mondays (PM) and Wednesdays (AM) leading up to the winter break, but Mrs. Haydu would like all books returned before the holidays so she can get the Library organized for the new year! Thank you for understanding.
