Hello Kindergarten Families,

We are one short week away from winter break!  Our Kindergarten students are buzzing with excitement.

This week we learned about the letter Nn!  We made it with our bodies (AM photos) and also found it in our snowflake poem (PM photos). We noticed that there were so many things we could draw that started with N, like nest, nail, or net!

We also had a very exciting week of Gym! The Gaga Ball pit was set up for us to use! Gaga Ball is a version of dodgeball where you roll the ball towards the other players and try to hit them below the knee.  If the ball touches you below the knee, you are out until the next round. It's fast-paced and so fun! Pictures are of our AM class.

In Math we continue to practice patterns. Our work is becoming more complex! We spent some time this week talking about the core of a pattern and how it is the smallest part of the pattern that repeats. We will continue our pattern work into the new year!  Photos are from our PM class.

Finally, tis the season for all of the art. We made oil pastel resist snowflakes, so we drew white snowflakes on white paper and then watercoloured over top to reveal the snowflake shape.  We also had fun creating hat ornaments in Maker Space!  Finally, we worked on a top secret craft that will come home with your child next week.  In the photos, the snowflakes on the left of the snowman are PM and the right are AM. The hats are PM.
